6-week courses for transformative learning
Pin Programs
Pin Programs are in-person 6-week courses that are designed to help you grow deeply in one particular aspect of Asian cooking. All skill levels are welcome to enroll, and completing a Pin Program means that you will graduate with the confidence to try making any dish, no matter how involved.
Using a highly-experiential, cohort-based model with a skilled instructor, you will learn, grow, and enjoy many tasty bites (and some burned ones) together.
Oh, and when your learning journey comes to an end, you’ll earn one of these nifty pins.
Which pin program will you choose?
What to expect
Before your Pin Program begins…
Get ready to build something great. Each Pin Program cohort becomes a unique learning community. Together, you will enjoy new experiences, overcome challenges, and make some great food together.
Save the dates! Each Pin Program comprises six 2-hour classes. Because each Pin Program is only offered once a year, classes cannot be made up. Aunties & Uncles will help you review individually what you missed.
During your Pin Program…
You will be encouraged (not required) to begin purchasing recommended kitchen tools for use during your Pin Program. These tools will be available at United Noodles in Minneapolis.
Practice, practice, practice! You will be asked to practice the skills you are learning each week at home. Consistently using your newly gained tools & techniques will be essential for the goal of deep learning.
At the end of your Pin Program…
Each Pin Program will have a completely unique graduation requirement. Cohorts will work together to define an enjoyable, realistic graduation project. We hope it involves good friends and great food!
You’ve earned your pin! Wear it proudly, you’re a Hot Wok Academy Pin Program graduate!
Stay in touch. Your cohort will be encouraged to stay in touch with your Auntie or Uncle and one another. You will continue learning from one another well after your Pin Program has come to an end!
